Rotary has indeed changed. In the summer months in 2021 there remains a continuing level of uncertainty about whether our service to society includes the highly valued human connection experienced by Rotary participants in the past. The phrase "hands meet in front of each other" will become part of the routine, but it's clear that there is a growing faith and desire to connect face-to face. Rotary's face has changed. The Rotary network helps build friendships that last. The Pandemic was the catalyst for us to take on the latest technology. We have sharpened up our practices maintaining online meetings for our business while introducing the social and service aspects using a friendly face-toface approach. New possibilities have been combined with our most effective pre-pandemic strategies to create a new and exciting future for Rotary. According to a Rotary survey 75% of members plan their normal business activities. Read this article 1. Amanda Watkin is the General Secretary of Rotary Magazine. We are aware that volunteering through the network of Rotary builds lasting relationships based on the shared experience of giving time for community benefit. Amazingly, our Rotarians have been able to find innovative and creative solutions to some of the most difficult issues. This is the reason I was so happy to be given the opportunity to become a member of Rotary at the age of 22 in.
