She has focused on topics including security at schools, opioids, infrastructure, along with trade. In her current position, Schlapp does not deal much with journalists. The company received lots of media attention when she was named as a candidate to replace Hope Hicks, the communications director. It's been a nasty fight. Schlapp was a ally of Tony Sayegh. He was an aspirant. They started fighting in media. Schlapp made a call to Sayegh when that the Washington Examiner printed a bad report about him.
